If I use Teeth Whitening, will it make my uneven color more uneven?

My two front teeth are discolored in spots by god knows what and I wanted to use tooth whitening via Crest whitening strips….. is there a possibility it’ll increase the problem or is it more likely it’ll make it less noticeable?
